Micro Only in Name
Core Micro is an all-in-one Kontakt Player instrument built for composers who need a wide musical palette. A single preset puts a cache of orchestral instruments, voices, atmospheres, and sound effects within immediate reach, so you can easily sketch and score without breaking your creative flow to hunt for sounds. Under the hood, a 4-layer architecture with per-layer articulation, LFO, Filter, and Arpeggiator gives you genuine sound-shaping depth, while Gliss and Strum modes add idiomatic performance techniques, and the Phrase Sequencer brings pre-recorded content in sync with your session tempo. A 27-module DSP effects rack with 99 convolution reverb IRs rounds things out, so sounds can go from dry to production-ready without ever leaving the instrument. Sonically expansive, highly customizable, and intuitive to navigate, Sweetwater composers attest that though Core Micro might be compact, it's all heart.
Note: This product requires Kontakt (full version) or Kontakt Player to operate. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have questions.

Four layers for endless combinations
At the core of Core Micro is a 4-layer architecture that gives you real sound-design depth that belies its quick-launch interface. Each layer carries its own articulation menu, with Volume, Attack, Offset, Release, Vibrato, Filter, and Coarse/Fine Pitch controls, so you can build something as simple as a single solo voice or as complex as a 4-part hybrid texture. Layer Lock applies your changes across all active layers at once, letting you shape an entire patch with a single knob turn, while the X-Fade slider lets you smoothly blend between two combinations on the fly, whether you're automating a swell mid-performance or just auditioning options. Layers 3 and 4 add sound-designed pads, dissonant textures, and a 6-shape sub-synth to reinforce the low end or add tonal weight. This layering system is genuinely useful for quickly stacking organic and synthetic elements into something that sounds intentional rather than simply patched together.

Perfectly in-time phrases
Core Micro’s Phrase Sequencer takes handpicked vocal and instrumental content from Soundiron's Voices of Rapture, Voices of Gaia, Voices of Wind, and Little Wooden Flutes libraries and puts it under direct rhythmic control. Up to 32 steps can be arranged with independent Start, End, and Pitch settings per step, and the Direction menu offers Forward, Backward, Looping, Stepped, Random, and Knob-follow playback behaviors. The real flexibility comes from the three playback modes: Natural plays phrases at their original pitch and speed, Sync automatically time-stretches content to match your DAW's tempo, and Variable lets you manually stretch duration with a dedicated Stretch knob. The Phrase Sequencer is a fast yet powerful way to ensure your ideas are at the speed you need.
Motion and nuance
Not one to stand still, Core Micro’s LFO system applies continuous, evolving motion to Volume, Pitch, Pan, or Filter parameters using five wave shapes, along with Time, Intensity, and Fade controls, so pads and sustained notes breathe and shift. 13 Filter types can be modulated by Velocity, Mod Wheel, Aftertouch, or Key Position for added expressiveness. The customizable Arpeggiator turns held chords into intricate rhythmic patterns with 14 Direction modes, Swing, and Randomization, while Gliss and Strum modes generate idiomatic glissando and strum-style performances using their own Scale, Curve, Chord, and Rate controls. A built-in Scale and Key Lock system keeps every note you play inside your chosen key, so improvising or sketching quickly never results in a wrong note. These tools automatically generate real musical movement and performance nuance, saving the time it would otherwise take to hand-program that same expressiveness note by note.
