Everything You Love About the Original, Brighter

MXR's Carbon Copy Bright analog delay pedal is designed for players looking for a more present and articulate delay tone. The core of the Bright shares the same 100% analog Bucket Brigade circuitry as the popular first-generation MXR Carbon Copy, but the Bright is tuned for more clarity. Its voice lends itself well to delay stacking, giving you a decidedly three-dimensional sound when used with the darker-sounding original. The MXR Carbon Copy Bright delay pedal has all the analog goodness you want with a slightly brighter tone.

MXR Carbon Copy Bright Analog Delay Pedal at a Glance:
  • Same analog circuitry you love
  • An alternative and complementary tone
  • All the power of the original
Same analog circuitry you love

The original MXR Carbon Copy delay became a classic upon release for its easy-to-use design and warm Bucket Brigade tone. But some players wanted the option of a brighter delay that would cut through a mix better. The Carbon Copy Bright answers this call while still sharing all of the analog construction of its older brother. The Bright pedal's delays have a slight bass roll-off with a vocal-like quality that won't muddy your signal. And the metallic green finish is updated while still undeniably being a Carbon Copy.

An alternative and complementary tone

The brighter tone of this pedal delivers all of the warmth and character of a great analog delay. But its newly tuned voice is a great alternative when you need something a bit different than the dark, chewy flavor of some designs. Instead of replacing the original Carbon Copy, the Bright is wonderful as an addition to your pedalboard for when you need both sounds. And the two models blend beautifully for stacking your delays in series or parallel.

All the power of the original

Sweetwater guitarists are thrilled to see that the Carbon Copy Bright delay has kept all the qualities that made the original so beloved. The same Bucket Brigade technology powers the Bright for 600ms of delay time. The Mod button adds the sound of an old tape delay's pitch modulation for adding a shimmering beauty to your tone that can be adjusted with internal controls. And true-bypass switching ensures the pedal won't color your guitar's natural tone when switched off.

MXR Carbon Copy Bright Analog Delay Effects Pedal Features:
  • A brighter take on the classic Carbon Copy
  • All-analog Bucket Brigade circuitry
  • Sound stacks well with darker original model
  • Mod button adds modulation to the delay
  • True bypass won't color your tone
  • 600ms of delay time
The Carbon Copy Bright adds a little more sheen to a classic design.

Easy, Versatile, & Great Tone

I was blown away with how versatile, how easy to use, and what a great tone this pedal has. I didn't have the $$ for a top end echo machine like I wanted, but after the reviews from Andy on YT, I gambled that this pedal would do for now. I was wrong! This pedal is awesome, it covers a great range of tones, which are easy to dial in, and sounds great. The Mod feature can put you in Early PF territory without breaking your piggy bank, and there are a lot of other tones to be had as well. Works great in the FX loop of my MicroDark. Also, do start your tone search with all the knobs at 12 o'clock. Big shout out to Ryan Thorpe for getting my order in my hands tout suite.
Music background: Beginner, learning my relative minor relationships.

Excellent, affordable delay pedal

I bought the MXR Carbon Copy Bright delay pedal to replace the regular Carbon Copy delay I had been using. True to it's advertising, it's the same analog delay sounds, but a slightly brighter tone, which allows your guitar to not drop back in the mix during live gigs as much as with the earlier Carbon Copy. I don't use the Mod option at this time, but it does make some cool sounds. It's very easy to dial in the reverb settings, and like the other MXR pedals I own, it's ruggedly built. Very satisfied with it.
