Works well for low end price!

I only needed this to "even out" the sound of my MEL9 pedal. The instructions for the MEL9 says that if you put a comp pedal in front of it, you get a much better response from that pedal. They were right.. I thought about spending the extra money but read good reviews online about this pedal and gave it a try. I'm glad I did! It has loads of sustain, and I especially like the tone control because I wasn't looking for the twangy thin sound used in country music that the pedal is great for using. There is a lot of headroom on all the controls, and after using it for a couple of hours, it will do well for my needs. It's quiet, and well built heavy plastic. If you are using it on a pedal board and not jumping up and down on it, it should give years of faithful use. I appreciate reviews here at Sweetwater from people who take the time to post details when they have time. I always suggest that if you are using powered sources that you always have a separate power supply for your pedals.. I found this out the hard way when I was getting unwanted sounds from one of my pedals last year. I was using it with several others on one power supply.. after some help from my SWEETWATER TECH I used a separate power and problem solved.. As always, my sales rep Andy Miller followed up on my order before it shipped... I will always remain a happy customer with this kind of service and pricing.. Thanks Andy!

I waited to write this review to be sure this pedal held up. Plastic case is the only con, but does what is expected. This pedal will not crush the signal so if your looking for that, go on by. But for my uses this pedal works fine. Good dynamics and sustain. And as always the Sweetwater team was awesome.

Behringer Compressor/Sustainer CS400

This is a great compressor for the price. Works really well on clean setting. I can get that snappy, tight Nashville sound on my Tele. It is made of plastic, but unless your going to stomp it as hard as you can, this pedal should last you a while.
