The Next Evolution of a Classic Compressor

The BOSS CP-1X Compressor effects pedal is a futuristic take on BOSS's acclaimed line of compression stomp boxes. Utilizing Multi-Dimensional Processing, the CP-1X Compressor analyzes all of the frequencies in your signal to deliver dynamic control that remains musical at any setting. 18-volt internal electronics ensure the pedal boasts enough headroom for a wide array of guitars and tunings. And a handy gain reduction indicator helps you dial in your compression with visual cues. The CP-1X may be the best BOSS compressor yet.

A classic pedigree

BOSS compressor pedals have been and continue to be found on countless pedalboards around the world. Their clear tone, ease-of-use, and nearly indestructible construction have made the CP series of compression stomp boxes classics. The CP-1X is the most forward-thinking iteration of these famed pedals. But even with all the power onboard, this compressor still boasts the familiar 4-knob control layout, transparent performance, and gig-ready build of it's iconic brothers.

Multi-Dimensional Processing

What separates the CP-1X from BOSS's other compressors is its digital Multi-Dimensional Processing. This intelligent design instantly analyzes the different aspects of your guitar's signal and applies the pedal's effect to each differently, ensuring the pedal performs in the most musical way possible. This also means that the CP-1X remains transparent at any setting. And Sweetwater guitarists immediately noticed how quiet this digital processing makes the pedal. Definitely a big win.

18-volt internal electronics

Headroom is extremely important in a great compression circuit. That's why BOSS engineered the CP-1X with an internal voltage pump. What this means is, though you are able to use the standard (optional) BOSS 9-volt power adapter or 9V battery to power the unit, you'll receive the power needed to handle guitars that other compressors can struggle with. Active pickups, extended-range guitars, and acoustic-electric guitars are no problem, thanks to the pedal's 18-volt internal electronics.

Excellent performance!

I just received mine, and as soon as I plugged it is, my guitar started singing! I really like this compressor. Lots of sustain and very transparent. Pushing the settings did not seem to add the odd pumping and artifacts of compressors past. It's as praiseworthy as I've read in the various reviews. Worth the money for sure.

Boss CP-1X

I have used compressor pedals periodically throughout my life as a musician but never really liked the squashed sound that many of them produced. Now that I play acoustic almost exclusively, though, I needed something to help balance out the sound of my attack when playing live with my band--something to keep my leads from becoming overpowering and overdriving my amp when I get a into a solo and something to bring out the quieter notes to make my sound more complete. This pedal does just that. It really brings everything together. When I boost for a lead, I don't worry about becoming too loud and when I hybrid pick on a song, the sound variation is much more level--that note the I hit with my pick doesn't completely overpower the notes I pick with my fingers. The controls really allow you to shape how drastic the impact is on your sound without changing your tone. This pedal has really made a huge difference in our overall sound as a band and has allowed me to be a little more natural and spontaneous in my playing. Great Compressor

This pedal is smooth from note one, a compressor that just enhances what ever you decide to throw at it. If you are looking for a great compressor for the money this is definitely worth taking a look at, another great pedal from boss.

Been waiting for This One!

My new favorite compressor pedal! Very sweet and musical sounding. Very "usable'. Won out over the TC Hypergravity and Guyatone ST2 (which is still a great comp). I would highly recommend this pedal.
Music background: Part time Professional player.

A very nice comp pedal

This is like no other compressor pedal on the market!!! It can go from smooth transparent , to full-on squash with out any weird pumping sounds. Easy to dial in a sound for all types of playing. This acts like a multi band studio comp. It adjusts to your playing , if you play high on the neck, or low on the neck with open chords, bends, single notes or anything you can throw at it. While there is no blend knob... it can be set very natural to keep a lot of the dynamics of your input signal. Give it a shot you won't be disappointed. In my opinion this is by far the best comp pedal out there..... yet.
