Perfection!

Initially it was the aesthetics of this headset that caught my attention. It just looks beautiful and has so much nostalgia attached to it but after testing several brands and models of headsets this was the cleanest and smoothest sounding of any of the "visible" headset options I tried. Also, when fitted to your head is by far the most comfortable to wear and seems to be quite secure. I am curious how sturdy the metal frames off shoot that the mic boom attaches to will be long term since is a fairly thin pieces of metal but so far it seems to be strong enough. Obviously, dont sit or step on your headset mic and you should be fine. Ive seen some reveiws about the windscreen getting wet easily and needing to be changed out in between sets on occasion... I have not had that issue yet although I dont sweat a ton. Either way I have already purchased 2 extra windscreens just in case that ever becomes an issue. It's good to be prepared! I actually love how this headset sounds so much that I plan to purchase a second one to have as a backup even though I have a good sounding Shure headset as a backup already. This cm311 just sounds so crystal clear right out of the box and doesnt move as much when fitted to the head plus is way more comfortable! If i could give it a 9.5 out of 10 I would! I wish it were available with more connector options as I much prefer Sennheiser wireless systems over Shure sound and performance wise. Thats the only reason Im holding back on that .5. Id also peronally love to see an all silver chrome, a brushed brass or shiny gold version, as well as an all matte white version...

Finally found it: the mic that stops feedback

Just arrived. NEW GEAR DAY.
I sing while playing a guitar and want the freedom of a wireless headworn mic. For years I have searched and tried many high-end, more expensive, headworn vocal mics only to be disappointed. Even the ones that claim high gain before feedback don't live up to the claim. That's my issue, feedback. I move around when I perform and want to walk into the crowd and have sound behind me.
I tested this as soon as I got it and couldn't believe the sound. I couldn't stop rehearsing.

I love this mic for these reasons:
1] It rejects feedback. Cardioid pattern really works. Issue solved.
2] The sound of my voice is vastly improved. Excellent vocal quality.
3] Unlike some reviews I find it comfortable and can wear it for hours without noticing discomfort.

I don't love this mic for these reasons, but the above outweigh it:
1] It is hard to adjust to your head, neck, mouth. The fit is based on bending metal wires to shape. It really is mic for only one person because of the fit. But once it's customized to your head and mouth, it's good.
2] For best sound it has to be firmly pushed against your lips. That's not easy but can be done. Your mouth is not visible, like on a handheld vocal mic. But the sound is as good as some of the best handheld vocal mics.

All in all I am thrilled with the mic. And, if it's good enough for Garth Brooks it's good enough or me and maybe you too.

Brilliantly fragile

Wow - can't believe they're still selling this exact same mic after all these years.
It'a an amazing thing - no feedback issues even if you stand in front of a big blasting QSC speaker.
If you're playing with two hands - this is your ticket.
That said - the thing is insanely fragile.
Where it connects to the vertical - not even a gusset - it will break there.
Don't let anybody touch it!
And it will easily swing away from your mouth - gotta creatively tape it.
Tightening that thumbscrew does nothing.
Bending it to suit your head is nerve wracking and difficult.
But I love it.
