Must-have tool for dynamic and ribbon mics! From stage to studio, the Cloud Microphones Cloudlifter Mic Activator series lets you get the best possible sound from your dynamic microphones. Park one of these little boxes at the foot of your favorite dynamic, hit it with phantom power, and prepare to have your mind blown as you hear nuances and details you never thought that mic was capable of capturing. With a Cloudlifter in your rig, your very first SM58 can sound like a high-end boutique broadcast mic, and your studio ribbons will sound like nothing you've experienced before. Noise-free amplification that really makes a difference Many preamps sound great until you push them, when all of the hiss and crackle produced by the amplifier itself end up in the mix. The gain boost provided by your Cloudlifter lets your mic pre work more efficiently, allowing you to get the levels you need, without the noise. Instant ribbon mic mod for any microphone preamplifier Ribbon mics are wonderful, but many microphone preamplifiers are simply too weak to get enough signal out of them. A Cloudlifter Mic Activator will turn your preamp's harmful phantom power into as much as +25dB of extra gain, turning even a budget model into an effective ribbon preamp. Upgrade even your most inexpensive dynamic mic The forums are full of love letters from satisfied engineers who've used their Cloudlifters to get new life and energy from their low-output broadcast mics. However, these amazing devices can make even cheap handhelds sound like studio standard mics by bringing out those frequencies that are normally too quiet to notice. Essential for long cable runs - live or in the studio If you work in a large, multi-room studio or auditorium, then you won't believe what a difference a Cloudlifter will make. With its extra gain boost to drive your signal, even cable runs over hundreds of feet won't drain the life out of your sound. The result is nothing short of remarkable. Totally transparent boost for any kind of mic Cloud Microphones designed their Cloudlifter series around direct-coupled, discrete JFET circuitry, engineered to preserve the natural sound of your mics. So, no matter how dramatic of an impact this transparent technology may have on your tone, you can be sure you're really just hearing your mic at its best.
