Dual-pattern Condenser for Any Occasion
As a member of the Series Seven collection, the Josephson Engineering C715 microphone boasts supreme sonic flexibility. For starters, a 5-micron evaporated gold diaphragm captures smooth, clean sound throughout its 20Hz-20kHz frequency response. The diaphragm is paired with a unique rear vent, which gives you access to cardioid and omnidirectional polar patterns. At Sweetwater, we’ve found that switching between the different polar patterns is easy, thanks to the included screwdriver. The capsule is internally shockmounted, so you don’t have to dig out a specialized accessory to put the C715 on a mic stand. Finally, this microphone includes Josephson Engineering’s patented metal foam windscreen to reduce internal reflections and give you an overall cleaner sound. For sensational sonic flexibility, choose the Josephson Engineering C715 condenser microphone.

Choose your polar pattern
Though it has a single-sided microphone capsule, the C715 leverages a unique acoustic vent to achieve both cardioid and omnidirectional polar patterns. Located at the back of the mic, the vent’s adjustment screw lets the user choose which polar pattern they need. Turning the screw to the right closes the vent, turning the microphone into an omnidirectional mic. Meanwhile, turning the screw to the left opens the vent for a more directional cardioid polar pattern. A specialized adjustment screwdriver is provided. Whatever you’re recording, the C715 has the sonic flexibility to make it happen.

Unique metal foam windscreen
Josephson Engineering outfits each C715 microphone with its patented metal foam windscreen. This unique design blends the best aspects of a foam windscreen and a metal grille into one. It’s built from an aluminum alloy that supplies robust projection for the capsule. Where standard basket-type windscreens require supporting structures and rings, the metal foam windscreen design is entirely self-supported. Because the metal foam requires no internal support, its highly open structure reduces reflections, acoustic resonances, and phase anomalies.
Josephson Engineering: mics for engineers in the know
Founded by David Josephson, Josephson Engineering has developed and produced high-quality microphones since 1989. Hailing from scenic Santa Cruz, California, the company prides itself on creating purpose-driven condenser microphones that absolutely excel in the studio environment. Though Josephson Engineering is far from boastful, reputable audio engineers laud the company’s microphones for their ability to deliver clean, high-headroom sound on almost any source imaginable. Whether you’re recording delicate sources or a wall of screaming cabs, there’s a Josephson Engineering microphone for you. Even better, Josephson Engineering meticulously designs and manufactures every microphone to last for decades.
