Superb sound quality

Engineered to exacting standards, Beta 87A unites the best of studio and stage. With its condenser design and supercardioid polar pattern, the Beta 87A reveals nuance and subtlety in a microphone optimized for the most demanding live environments. The choice for the world's most accomplished vocal performances, Beta 87A microphones capture vocal subtlety with extraordinary detail to deliver clear articulation, functional flexibility and precise vocal reproduction for live performance.

Built for a loud stage

One shortcoming of a lot of condenser mics is their inherent nature to capture everything around them, resulting in terrible feedback and lack of control in a loud environment. The Beta 87A counters this with it's supercardioid pickup pattern, accepting only the closest and most direct signal sources. You'll be amazed how well they do standing right infront of a loud set of monitors. And Beta 87A microphones offer consistency across all frequencies, providing more gain before feedback, and minimizing proximity effect.

Like any other Shure mic, the Beta 87A is built to withstand just about anything. Shure mics are renowned industy-wide for being virtually indestructable. All of their designs go through the same durability testing from drops, to humidity, to heat tests, and more! Shure mics are one of the top choices for live performance worldwide for one very simple reason: They perform night after night, no matter how rough it gets.

One Bad-a** Stage Mic

I have used a fair number of different stage mics, including a 58 beta and an EV 676. This mic stands head and shoulders above any other stage mic I have sang on. It would be a more fair comparison to compare it to a studio condenser mic for warmth and reproduction of the voice, however the mic has great isolation on stage, and really cuts thru the mix without picking up other instruments or sounds.Best vocal stage mic I have ever used.

Awesome Mic

I needed a better mic for the band I'm in. I personally didn't care for the SM58, so I tried this. Wow! It has exceeded my every expectations! The response and clarity of my vocals is great! Love this mic!

Studio Quality on stage

performing live demands a microphone that has clarity and quality that is found in a studio, and The Beta 87A has all of that, whether it be in a small curch or a 10,000 seat arena. Vocals are crisp and clear, That's why The Crownsmen Quartet use only the Shure Beta 87A,. and all our road equipment was purchased from Sweetwater Sound. The Crownsmen Quartet

Great, Great Mic!

I love this mic! I've owned it for about 3 years now and still use it all the time. The clarity of the Beta 87A is worth every penny. This thing will never feedback which is a MUST for live use. Go get one!!

A Singer's dream mic

I am a singler/songwriter . i play in resturants and weddings and partys . This microphone is outstanding. I really love the warm crisp sound of this mic.I have quite a powerful voice so I sing a few inches away and give it all I've got . It picks up so much detail even a few inches away plus when I go close up its so warm. I have many good quality mics i.e the Rode S1, Se Electronics H1 but the Shure beta 87a surpasses them all. This microphone is like what Hagen Diaz is to having a choice of ice cream it really is a delux condenser mic worth every penny.
