Gene Simmons' Signature Sonic Destroyer
Few bass guitars match the larger-than-life nature of Kiss better than the Thunderbird’s low rumble, which is why Gibson is now proud to offer the Gene Simmons G2 Thunderbird — customized by the Demon himself! This sonic destroyer is outfitted with a smooth ebony fingerboard, blacked-out hardware, and snow-white binding to match the band’s signature face paint. The G2 Thunderbird boasts a thunderous tone to match its wild looks, sporting a pair of T-Bird pickups and a Hipshot Bass bridge that offer near-endless sustain and a ground-shaking low-end punch. A mirror-plex truss rod cover and pickguard laser-etched with Gene’s logo ties this bird together, all adding up to a bass that will have you rock ’n’ rolling all night!

Earth-shaking bass tone
For big bass tone, the Gibson Gene Simmons G2 Thunderbird Bass comes with a pair of T-Bird humbuckers. Gibson designed these pickups with ceramic magnets to give you punch and clarity. The rest of the band will love your bass' huge, full sound with a tight bottom end that will keep you in the groove!
Nitro finish for the look and feel of a classic
Gibson gave the Gene Simmons G2 Thunderbird Bass a gorgeous nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Nitro finishes — standard back in the day — are significantly thinner than today’s polyurethane finishes, allowing the guitar to “breathe.” Nitro finishes not only look amazing, but they also enhance the instrument’s tonal qualities. The Gene Simmons G2 Thunderbird Bass has the look and feel of a lovingly cared-for classic — one that will only improve with age.
