Multidimensional sound in one instrument
A groundbreaking hybrid instrument that lets you bring the forces of Arturia’s vast proprietary software oeuvre to a performance setting without the need for a computer, AstroLab 88 occupies a unique niche in today’s high-end keyboard market. Gigging keyboardists, producers, and studio synthesists at Sweetwater have found AstroLab to be a veritable powerhouse that brings real-time sound-sculpting prowess to Arturia’s lauded virtual instruments in a sleek, road-ready keyboard purpose-built for stage and studio. With massive storage space for presets, AstroLab’s powerful sound engine serves as the singular source for any of your carefully curated sounds from compatible VIs. On the top panel, eight knobs supply flexible macros that can be tailored to each preset, divided between four instrument controls and four effects controls. Additionally, each of the macro controls is color coded not only to display parameter status but also to support multi-part presets, allowing you to control one or both of a preset’s respective macros simultaneously.
A paradigm shift of form and function
A decidedly unconventional blend of standalone keyboard instrument and MIDI controller, AstroLab features exhaustive connectivity that includes MIDI I/O, USB-C, and a USB-A host port, as well as wireless control via Bluetooth Audio and Wi-Fi. Both sustain and expression pedal jacks are provided, along with an auxiliary audio input and XLR/TRS combo main outputs. Par for the course in a modern high-end keyboard. But it’s the innovative implementation of the cutting-edge software that drives it, and the advanced architecture that underpins it, that makes AstroLab able to fully exploit the seemingly limitless sonic possibilities of virtual instrumentation. Moreover, it streamlines the real-time performances of those sounds by eliminating the complexity of running a VI with a connected, synchronized computer onstage. And with immediate access to 10.000 playable sounds via Arturia software, you will never run out of high-quality sounds in the heat of a live gig or a pressure-cooked recording session. Power-packed and ready to rock, the Arturia AstroLab 88 raises the bar for stage piano performance. Get yours at Sweetwater today!
