An Exploratory Percussion Toolbox
Soundiron’s Antidrum Machine is a deeply sampled collection of experimental percussion instruments, toys, machines, and other unique sound sources. It’s meant for composers and sound designers seeking an alternative to conventional virtual instrument libraries. You get an ever-evolving palette of found sounds, field recordings, prepared objects, and noisy contraptions, along with synthesis tools (dual-layer tuning, configurable filters and LFOs, a built-in arpeggiator, randomized mapping, and a full Kontakt FX rack) to shape those sound sources into something entirely your own. Whether you’re adding tension to a film score, designing alien textures for a video game, or hunting for the one percussive hit no one else has used, Antidrum Machine provides you with a vast assortment of experimental and alternative instruments and sound effects.
Note: This product requires Native Instruments Kontakt (full version) or Kontakt Player to operate. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have questions.

Nine libraries, one instrument
Antidrum Machine consolidates Soundiron's experimental percussion catalog into a single Kontakt instrument. You get the 3-volume Antidrum series, the metallic clatter and scrap-yard resonance of Cathedral of Junk, the squeaks and stretches of Luftballoon, the bell-like tones of Luminabells, the tuned plastic hits of PVC Beatbox Ensemble, the icy textures of Snow Drums, and an entirely new Antidrum volume (recorded exclusively for this release), built from thousands of samples pulled from children's toys. Furthermore, Antidrum Machine folds them all into a single, streamlined, fully cross-compatible interface, so every sound lives within a consistent set of controls.

Glide, reimagined for percussion
Most sample libraries treat the Glide function as a synth-style feature that’s useful for sustained pads and leads, and not relevant to one-shot percussive hits. However, Antidrum Machine does something different. Applied to percussive content, Glide adds a pitch-bend to the note's attack, with the depth of that bend determined by the last key you pressed, so the same sample can snap, swoop, or slide into pitch differently depending on how you play it. Sweetwater composers attest that this small mechanical detail yields an outsized creative payoff, with static one-shots becoming responsive to your performance.
