PRS Quality for Everyone

The SE Angelus A20E gives you PRS quality in an affordable acoustic-electric guitar that begs to be played live. Its X-brace/classical hybrid top-bracing is borrowed from PRS's USA-made line for optimum clarity and projection. The spruce top and mahogany back and sides provide a classic warm and articulate sound. And the PRS under-saddle electronics let you take your SE Angelus A20E onstage and get the same acoustic tone you love. The PRS SE Angelus A20E delivers custom acoustic features without the custom acoustic price tag.

Paul Reed Smith SE Angelus A20E Acoustic-electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • PRS's X-brace/classical hybrid top-bracing
  • Fine tonewoods meet signature PRS appointments
  • Under-saddle pickup system provides excellent sound onstage
PRS's X-brace/classical hybrid top-bracing

PRS's proprietary X-brace/classical hybrid top-bracing method blends the techniques of some of the most legendary acoustic guitar luthiers in history. This bracing pairs resonant tops with stiff and reflective backs and sides, offering a powerful tone that doesn't mask the intricacies of your playing style. The SE Angelus A20E shares this bracing design with PRS's USA-made production acoustic guitars. It's a high-end feature you'd expect to find on custom acoustics costing thousands of dollars, but it can be yours for an affordable price.

Fine tonewoods meet signature PRS appointments

The PRS SE Angelus A20E features an Angelus body with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The neck of this SE Angelus A20E follows Paul Reed Smith's "wide" neck shape and is carved from choice mahogany. A bound rosewood fretboard gives the neck a smooth feel and rich tones. And the signature bird inlays denote the Angelus as a member of the PRS family. The SE Angelus A20E manages to strike the perfect balance between modern eye-catching adornments and a traditional acoustic appearance.

Under-saddle pickup system provides excellent sound onstage

Getting your acoustic guitar tone to translate in a live environment can be tricky. That's why PRS outfitted their SE Angelus A20E with their under-saddle pickup system. These electronics naturally sense vibration at the point where it's the clearest and most intense. This gives you a clear and strong voice with good feedback rejection. Soundhole controls for tone and volume let you dial in your tone to taste. And the controls' low-profile design does away with unsightly electronics dominating the look of your guitar.

Paul Reed Smith SE Angelus A20E Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • Acoustic-electric guitar with under-saddle pickup system
  • Spruce top delivers nuanced clarity and projection
  • Mahogany back and sides provide warm and rich sound
  • Large yet comfortable body style gives you excellent acoustic projection
  • Onboard pickup system sounds great and is low profile
Get a real PRS acoustic-electric guitar with an affordable SE Angelus A20E.

PRS SE Angelus A20E

For the price it is one of the finest guitars I have purchased. The setup was great, this guitar has great tones, low, mids and highs. For a narrower body it has good volume. The neck is very comfortable even after 4 hour gigs. Highly recommend this instrument for someone looking for a quality guitar without breaking the bank. As always there is no better place to purchase an instrument or gear than at Sweetwater, my sales rep. Aaron is one of the best sales person that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, his knowledge and helpfulness is genuine. Ive done business with a lot of music shops and it like give me your money then go away. Not so when dealing with Aaron.

Review PRS SE Angelus A20E - Natural

My sales rep, Delvin Wolf (EXCEPTIONAL REP, BTW) suggested this guitar to me as a great low/mid price Acoustic/Electric. I took his advice as always and was completely blown away by this guitar!!!!! I have played Martin's, Taylor's and Gibson's that cost four to five times what I paid for this guitar and was not nearly as impressed as I was with this guitar! The electronics aren't as great as some of the high $ USA made Acoustics but a minimal sacrifice for the money. A+++++Thanks as always, Delvin!!!DC in NC

Really cool guitar

This PRS SE Angelus A20E is my first nice guitar. I was pretty close to buying a Taylor 114 or Martin Dread Jr or 000X1AE, and had actually played those (plus the GS Mini) at GC and another local shop. Then I heard about these PRS SE acoustics and watched Paul Reed Smith's TED talk on YouTube where he explains about the hybrid X bracing and construction he uses on all his acoustics, including the expanded SE Angelus range. Maybe I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, but I think there's something to this. My guitar teacher gave it a once over after I got it, and he was impressed. He said the amount of sustain was "unusual" for a guitar at this price. He didn't exactly compare the sustain to his $3K Martin, but he kind of did. The guitar looks really nice, and the bird inlay on the fretboard is way cool. It's only been about a month, but this thing seems to stay in tune really well. I haven't compared it to those Taylor and Martin guitars back to back, but this PRS SE Angelus is every bit as sweet sounding, if not more. Really happy with the purchase. The Sweetwater Guitar Gallery is awesome. It's online shopping to the next level. You're seeing the exact guitar that you're getting (and hand picking the one you want when there are several in stock). I would be happy to shop from Sweetwater again in the future.

Great guitar

I came across this guitar guitar center I played it for a while it was much better than the one I was looking at a fender 400 T bucket. The $300 difference is well worth it. The guitar sounds amazing the neck melts in your hand. I had a perfect set up my JKS. The one problem is The case is a is a bit tight quarter-inch too small I fixed mine myself. The overall quality of this guitar is amazing, sounds amazing, the wide fat PRS neck absolutely amazing. Talk to Kurt Cripe he's the guy I deal with I'm sure they're all good but this guy happens to be very good Cheers John Richmond PS Play it a guitar center buy it at Sweetwater my motto!

Great sounding guitar

Love the guitar, low strings so it's very easy to play . The kneck is a little bigger than I am used to it but easy to get around . My only complaint is the case is very tight lengthwise and the top of the guitar got chipped ,which is an bummer. Great value for money though I would recommend the purchase of this guitar. The customer service is very good the, guys are very knowledgeable and helpful
