30W Tube Combo w/ Eight Analog Amp Circuits

Throw out what you know about modeling amps! The 30-watt Vox Analog Valve combo delivers real tube grit and dynamic response from twin 12AX7s in the preamp and power amp stages. Choose from eight all-analog preamp circuits based on classic amps from Vox and others for tones that range from clean chime to high-gain crunch; then blend in analog-styled delay, chorus, or reverb to taste. A Power Level control lets you dial back wattage on the fly to capture the perfect stage of tube breakup for each song. A sealed cab with a custom 10" Vox speaker provides powerful bass, making the Vox AV30 not just a travel-friendly practice companion, but also a good-sounding, vintage-looking combo for the stage and studio.

Full Vox, less box

The Vox Analog Valve series packs decades of amp tones into a practice-friendly, stage-ready combo. Sweetwater guitarists applaud Vox for packing the AV30 combo with tube characteristics and a user-friendly layout.

Wow! Vox AV30!

After seeing the reviews from Sweetwater, The Captain and Chapper on YouTube I decided it was time to get a Vox amp. The AV30 was my choice because I wanted something more Analog than digital and the reviews really helped a lot. Sweet water shipping was excellent and when I first plugged my guitars into the AV30 I wasn't sure about because for so many years I have been using pedals with my amps. This is a different beast, NO PEDALS. So I spent more time with it and now Im crazy about it. The sound is real and the tones is sweet man, good respond and sustain. I love all the sounds it offers and man it just sounds GREAT! Im excited! Great product Vox! When I was 13 yrs old my Father bought me my first amp with my first electric guitar and the amp was a VOX because that's what the Beatles were using and the Rolling Stones too.. Now 40 years later Vox is back in my life again and it's here for good. Thanks Sweetwater and thank you VOX! Keep on Rockin it good!

Vox AV30

Love it!!!I wanted a small amp that sounds real. Great tone! I realize this is not a class A tube amp...The response is great. I can set this amp on the 5th notch which I believe is like an AC 30; channel volume about 1 o'clock and rock out. With my pick alone I can clean it up. Great sensitivity. If I pull the guitar volume back ...it is clean.Lot of headroom. Took it to a church that holds 2300 and couldn't believe how it filled the room. The only con for me is ; I wished the delay time could be longer.PRO; Whatever guitar you put in this amp is EXACTLY what you will Here!Strat or Paul ...even the difference between the pickups dramatic.Paul middle position...Sweet!I'll use it for home and jamming out. Been playing for a long time...I'm OLD SCHOOL and this amp delivers.

Awesome Amp

This amp is amazing. It sounds much better to my ears than the digital modeling amps that I have tried (Fender Mustang, Marshall Code, Blackstar Id Core). I don't know if that's due to the fact that it's analog instead of digital, the presence of the valves, or the fact that it focuses on 8 specific voices instead of dozens, but it sounds and especially feels much closer to the tube amps it's based on than digital modelers do. My favorites so far are the clean 2 channel with a fair amount of gain, which produces a heavy blues kind of tone, OD 1 with light gain which makes for a great classic rock sound, and High Gain 1 which is great for kind of classic metal stuff. The crunch channels sound great too, but I don't play music that is well suited for them much. The effects are nice to have. The reverb sounds really nice with a little bit on. The chorus and delay are fine for practice (which is what I use this amp for), but I'd imagine you'd want pedals if playing out with this. I don't experience any huge amounts of white noise or hissing with the power level high, as another reviewer did. I suppose that only affects some units. Overall, I'm blown away with how good this amp sounds and how fun it is to play with.

Sweetwater Advice

Vox AV30

Each channel can access any of the eight preamp circuits, which effectively imitate some of the performance characteristics of amps ranging from a tweed Bassman to an AC15, a JCM800, or an EVH 5150....You can also dial up wildly different gain structures and switch from warm, classic rock overdrive to searing, Van Halen-esque lead tones with the H.Gain2 setting....
