Steer Ableton Live with Your Hands!
Get your hands on Ableton Live! The APC20 gives you seamless control over your Ableton Live sessions — it's perfect for launching clips and scenes. In fact, the APC's upper button matrix is dedicated to making clip launching easier than ever. The 40 Clip Launch buttons are backlit to reflect exactly what's going on in your session. You'll know whether a clip is playing, loaded, or empty — all without looking at your laptop screen. This makes the APC20 perfect for the performing Live artist. Of course, thanks to the built-in transport controls and nine smooth-moving faders, you'll love using the APC20 in the studio too.
Because Akai Professional designed the APC20 in tandem with Ableton, the APC20 will control your Live Sessions right away — there's no mapping necessary. But the APC20 is also 100% customizable. You can reconfigure the MIDI controls to do whatever you need them to — great if you work in another DAW some of the time or want to get tweaky with your Live sessions. Of course, if you don't already have a copy of Ableton Live, that's okay too — you can get started using your APC20 straight out of the box. It comes with a custom-tailored software package, the Ableton Live Akai Professional APC Edition. This version features eight audio tracks and eight MIDI tracks, plus 20 Session View scenes. It also includes all of Live's effects and supports custom-mapping parameters within Live.
If you're serious about using the power of Live onstage and in the studio, you need an intuitive controller that's made for the job. You just can't beat the APC20's combination of compact size, major 40-button clip control, and a full-on fader section — not to mention the APC20's low price!
