Hybrid maple shells
The heart of this Absolute Hybrid Maple shell pack consists of its 7-ply hybrid maple shells. Three inner and three outer plies of maple surround a core ply of wenge. Together, they produce luxuriously clear tones that sound wonderful in any genre of music, at any volume. Your drumming and your music have never sounded better.
World-class hardware
Yamaha includes an ample amount of amazing hardware with the Absolute Hybrid Maple shell pack. Yamaha's YESS III mounting system enables each shell to resonate to its fullest potential, and the company's low-mass tom holder base achieves the same effect for the bass drum. Hook lugs also sport a low-mass profile and let you change heads quickly and easily. Finally, 3mm aluminum die-cast hoops give you rock-solid tuning stability plus all the attack you can muster.
Little touches that make big differences
Each Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple shell pack features thoughtful touches that add up to give your sound huge benefits. First, optimized bearing edges (45 degrees for toms and 30 degrees for bass drums) ensure that each drum sounds its best. Next, Yamaha places each vent hole in its ideal position to give you maximum color, sustain, and playability. Finally, each shell interior is coated with Yamaha's "vintage natural" finish for more than just a pretty face — it also enhances the sound of each drum even further.
