amazing for guitar vocal and drums record

Truly awesome tech support

As previously stated, this mic is first-class at its price point and definitely worthy of your consideration. But allow me to offer a review of Telefunken tech support. Bar none, they are among the best out there IMHO and I have dealt with many music equipment manufacturers over the past few decades. They very kindly helped customize my AK-47 mkII to achieve the sound I want at minimal cost. It has been true pleasure working with them every step of the way. They actually care about the result, which seems to be a rare commodity out there. So if tech support is important to you, rest assured Telefunken will impress!
Music background: Gearhead

This is the dark horse of the Telefunken line. Open and crisp in the top end without ever sounding harsh or strident, and no low/mid mud to be heard of. Works on every voice I've used it on so far, and is fantastic on acoustic guitar. It doesn't get the same attention as the likes of the 251 and U47, or it's cousin, the AR-51, but that's just fine with me, because this mic is now my secret weapon. You will record a vocal and find yourself realizing that EQ and compression are often not even necessary. This is a beautiful microphone all-around, and comes very, very close to a certain well-regarded mic from Sony, that costs about $8000 more...

Sweetwater Advice

Ashton Vaudt

The AK-47 MKII was a great way way for me to enter the world of Telefunken microphones. There’s no shortage of silky smooth goodness when I use it. When put it in front of any source, I trust it to deliver instant presence and clarity. And with nine polar patterns to choose from, it became an instant staple in my mic locker.
