Wow

I cringed when I was opening the box as I whispered to myself, "Just another midi keyboard again." Well, I was wrong the moment I grabbed the bottom to lift it out of the box. It seemed by touch and feel without removing the wrapping that the unit was heavier than imagined. With wrap still covering the unit, I pushed down on the keys and mumbled "No way". After I laid the keyboard down on the workstation desk, I plug it in flawlessly to the Mac, booted up Logic Pro, dragged in a piano sample and spent the next hour it total nirvana. The key bed is a joy to play. Gliding past the planets, looking for total recluse... Then my wife shakes me out of the gliding demanding I come and eat. Food for thought my friends... snatch this unit up, keep it close.... it's well worth it. My old 60's Farfisa is now in the closet. Always think of what my old band would have sounded like in the 60's with the new equipment we are spoiled with today. Better. :)

Great bang for the buck.

I was looking for a 49 key controller without sliders or pads to control my SE-1SE rack synth. Choice is limited because most small controllers don't have 5-pin MIDI.This controller does not disappoint. It would be comparable in size to the M-Audio Keystation, but adds D-beem, 2 variable CCV controllers, 2 switch buttons, plus several other control buttons, and has Roland's X/Y type bender/mod stick. But the best thing about it is the feel of the keys...I would call them semi-weighted. They have good resistance, and the keybed is very solid feeling. By far the best feeling keyed of any controller I've owned or demoed, with exception of a hammer action model. For the price, I think this is the best thing going, and one of few options for controlling hardware via 5-pin MIDI.

Amazing

Had to get it to go with my Roland Integra 7 Super Natural Module! And loving every minute of it! If I choose a super natural sound I just push the button on the A-49 it's mapped out instant satisfaction! And love the D-Beam function my music has taken another level!

Sweetwater Saves the Day!

When I first received the A-49, I thought it was broken, because I couldn't get it to power up. Lo and behold, Sweetwater to the rescue. Someone there took the time to answer that question for another person.Once I got it to work (Hold down the , and while plugging the USB cable in) the keyboard is -AWESOME- Excellent feel if You like synth action. (I do. That's why I bought it)About Sweetwater: I wouldn't buy from anyone else. Their prices are the best, their people are top-notch.What more can I say.
