Reviews

They do what you expect them to do
They allow you to mount speakers to a wall, allowing enough space in the rear to not impede air flow and provide access to the configuration DIP switches on the back (which you will only ever toggle once, anyway...). They also allow for positioning in a corner, as I have had to do with mine.

The only possible downside I can see is that nobody in their right mind mounts their studio monitors to wallboard as I have done (god knows what kind of vibratory artifacts I will encounter, but I have no choice.) They are made to be used on brick or some other hard surface. Using anchors in wallboard isn't going to cut it to hold up the weight of the speakers I have (5") and have it held out from the wall nearly a foot. You can get one side of the mount into a stud, but obviously they're not 16" wide, so for nearly all U.S. home applications you will be stuck securing at least one side to studs and the other to whatever anchoring mechanism you're not afraid to try.

Of course, mounting these entirely in bare wallboard with Home Depot anchors is not advisable from a stability/security standpoint, not to mention you've just turned your wall into a sound board.

The Genelec user's guide doesn't even show a case where these are bolted into anything other than something extremely rigid. (But they do provide some fancy Finnish poetry...no kidding.)

Solid Product
I can corroborate with the comment above. I use these mounts with a pair of 8040b. If you are installing these in either 1/2" or 5/8" drywall, regular drywall anchors will not suffice. For drywall, your best mounting solution is 3/16" or 1/4" toggle bolts. Other than that, I love these mounts.
