12-string Taylor with the Warmth of Mahogany

Players who enjoy the slinky string feel of a shorter scale and comfortable shape of the Taylor Grand Concert body will feel right at home playing the 562ce 12-string. This Taylor acoustic-electric guitar is exceptionally rich sounding thanks to an all-mahogany design - top, back, sides, and neck - for fullness and balanced projection. An ebony wood fingerboard allows the Taylor 562ce to respond accurately to nuanced playing styles, while an onboard ES2 behind-saddle pickup system delivers clean, natural amplification for the stage and studio.

Rich tone and looks from an all-mahogany design

Mahogany is known for its rich harmonics, complex lows, and controlled midrange. The 562ce pairs an all-mahogany build with an ebony fretboard for enhanced note detail and attack to complement its mellow tonal signature. A dark stain gives the tropical mahogany top a moody look to match its complex sound.

Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver superior sound onstage

Artists who play plugged in will appreciate the natural-sounding Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics onboard the 562ce guitar. This system features a three-section proprietary pickup located behind the guitar's saddle for clear and accurate sound reproduction. A master volume control and a pair of tone controls let you tweak your sound and output from the stage, and a discreet phase switch helps you squelch feedback before it starts.

12 string comfort!

I have always wanted a 12 string for the great, full sound but didn't like the way they played. Every one I've ever picked up was just way too big and the action and body were uncomfortable. This beauty has phenomenal action and a smaller body for playing comfort! I gig 4-6 times a week and it's a perfect complement to my Taylor 414ce. In fact , I've played entire gigs with just this guitar with no problem. If you've ever considered a 12 string, this is hands down THE guitar to buy! Nothing but great compliments from everyone who's heard it.

Wow Taylor 562ce

I seriously bought this thinking I would hate the play ability as in most 12 strings. WOW......I have old hands to go with my old body and this guitar plays like a dream even with 12 strings! The sound is substantial for a small body guitar, totally unexpected quality of sound coming from this guitar. And handling almost as easy as most 6 strings! The finish on mahogany is like a sheet of glass, so wear sunglasses!!1 I love this guitar. Thank you Taylor.

Taylor 562CE 12

My Taylor 562CE 12 is a great acoustic, it is hands down the best acoustic I own. I am now able to explore various tunings I can find on this warm voiced beauty. The 12 fret to the body allows effortless playing and clear notes ringing and sustaining just how I like it. I highly recommend this 12 string for a guitar player looking for something a little different than the usual.

The Taylor 12-Fret 12 string is my newest passion

The Taylor 562ce Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric w/Cutaway came out of the box and was ready to play. I didn't have to do any retuning. It sounds so beautiful to me. So pretty to look at too. It almost plays itself. The strings are close to the fretboard so it's very easy on the fingers. I'm a small person and it's a perfect fit, very light to hold so it's easy on my shoulders and back. I love the sound of this instrument, plugged in or not! It's ez to tune once you know how. 12 string guitars should come with instructions on the proper way to tune it easily, I think more people would purchase them if they did. I found an online instruction which works for me: Start from the heaviest strings first- beginning with middle G, B E, then down to D, A, and low E. Lighter strings next starting at middle g, b, e and down again to d, a, and low e. If you don't do it in this order the strings will not stay in tune as you're tuning the other strings. Frustration and insanity will follow. A regular 6 string electronic tuner works totally fine. It appears there are not any 12 string tuners on the market, there's no need for one. If you're thinking about this instrument- TAKE A CHANCE AND ORDER IT, you're not locked in if you don't like it. The guys at Sweetwater do everything they can to satisfy you.
Music background: I've been playing guitars off and on since the late 90"s. I started with classical but soon learned how much fun it is to make your own musical sounds. Isn't that how new ideas are born. I now have a collection of electric and acoustic guitars, along with

Awesome instrument

This guitar has a beautiful, full tone. The sound was what mostly sold me on the guitar in the first place. Gorgeous, rich tone. The neck feels great and the guitar stays in tune. The craftsmanship is superb. It is a joy to play. Going through a mixer/PA, the electronics deliver a very natural sound. I had been searching for a twelve string that would match the tone of a D35 Martin 12, that I owned in the 70's and when I picked this guitar up and played it at Gearfest I knew I had found what I had been looking for for years.

Sweetwater Advice

Taylor 562ce 12-fret 12-string Grand Concert

It's an instrument of refined delicacy, and guitarists who play with refined delicacy are likeliest to love it. It's rare that a double-course instrument is so simpatico with complex harmonies and nuanced picking-hand techniques. Such phenomenal playability is something new under the 12-string sun....
