Powerful sample control

The Stereo Triggered Sampler provides powerful controls for rearranging and joining samples or creating dynamically resized loops within a larger sample. Each playback channel of the STS is fitted with a Sample File selection knob and CV jack, as well as a Start Position knob and CV jack for controlling where sample playback will begin. A Length knob and CV jack determine how much of the sample is played back — from minuscule grains to percussive hits to longer loops — or the complete file. These tools, combined with the Play Trigger jack and the 1V/oct jack, let the STS generate two complete pitch-tracked multitimbral stereo voices. What's more, the STS also sports a Reverse button and jack for backward playback, and an End Out jack for synchronizing loops or cascading sample playback with other events.

Sync and loop

One of the things Sweetwater Eurorack enthusiasts love about the STS is how easy it is to sync and loop. Hold the Play button down for two seconds to toggle between loop and one-shot. The loop-timing clock will output from the End Out jack. Or to sync the loop to external timing, simply send a clock into the Play Trig input.

Stereo recording

Whether you patched 47 modules to deploy a killer percussive blast or you want to capture a performance of your 4-hour ambient composition, recording high-res files with the STS is easy. Hit the REC button or fire a trigger and a new stereo .wav file will be created on the inserted SD card. By all means, record as many takes as you need — the STS never deletes your files. Rearranging or reordering samples into banks is a piece of cake, even without a computer. You can even load a bank with 10 different variations and immediately use them for playback. The STS records at 16-bit/44.1kHz by default; 24-bit is selectable as an option.

Easy sample loading

Using a computer is optional with the Stereo Triggered Sampler; samples can be recorded directly to the module and placed into the bank of your choosing. But if you have large existing sample banks, the STS's intuitive automatic bank loading features make dragging and dropping your entire sample library a breeze — and you will never have to rename your files!
