Eurorack Meets Live Percussion
Incorporate acoustic drums and percussion into your Eurorack rig with the 4ms Percussion Interface and Percussion Interface Expander Eurorack module set. This simple but powerful combo converts audio signals into CV and clock/gate signals, for syncing sequencers and other time-based modules to live percussion performances. The PI Expander features three gain stage options, L/M/H, to accommodate everything from line-level signals and drum machines to cheap toy microphones and piezos via its 1/4-inch input jack. On the Percussion Interface module, a sensitivity knob allows you to adjust how much signal is required for the device to fire; sustain and decay controls let you fine-tune the device’s responsiveness to prevent misfires, as well as control gate and envelope length. Additionally, you can set the module as an envelope generator or follower to respond to playing dynamics. Synthesists at Sweetwater were also pleased to see an inverted envelope output, ideal for creative ducking applications. If you're searching for a fun way to merge Eurorack and live percussion, you'll want to check out the Percussion Interface and Percussion Interface Expander Eurorack module set from 4ms.
