Saw some other reviews that said a j bass wouldn't fit. That's not true my American J Bass fit just fine.

Great case, lighter than I expected. Wish it wasn't as bulky but I also have peace of mind when it's rattling around in a trailer or pickup to and from gigs. Will probably get another for my other Bass.

WHEN YOU CLOSE THIS CASE YOU KNOW THAT YOUR BASS IS AS SAFE AS IT CAN BE. FANTASTICALLY BUILT. CONS: HEAVY---BUT..... SO IS A TANK...

This is truly a well-built case that offers a ton of protection for the demands of a working musician. Six latches, two locks, three handles, and two wheels. A rubber gasket keeps rain out if it is ever caught in a downpour. Deep pockets in the interior fit all the accessories and sheet music I need to carry. A couple of things should be be pointed out to potential buyers:

1) As others have mentioned, it might not fit your bass. Some of the dimensions that SKB provides on their website don't tell the whole story. An interior measurement from the centerline to the outside of the cavity would be helpful. My Skjold Offset 6-string fits---BARELY. A quarter-inch more and it would have been unusable.

2) Just to clarify, this has ATA-approved latches with TSA locks. This allows the TSA to open it with a master key for security inspection but no one else can (but you--spare keys included).

3) It is HEAVY (nearly 23# empty). I find myself using the rollers far more than I ever thought I would.

THis is the best case I've ever owned. I travel a good amount with "American English Beatles Tribute" and I'm thinking of dumping all my cases and replace with these! I LOVE this case! I use it for my McCartney Fender Jazz bass, and I have no fear. Cheers, Eric Michaels

A very nice flight type bass case. It did not fit my Warrior Isabella (large single-cut body) but works with all my other basses. The neck support is great but comes down too low for a single-cut to sit correctly. Any Jazz or Precision style bass should have no problem. It is quite a bit heavier and deeper than an average case but that's to be expected for the type of protection it offers. It does have wheels and a padded handle to ease in transport. Locks and latches appear sturdy, don't think I'll try out the waterproof part. Well worth the cost if you travel with your instrument.
