Add Pro-quality Warmth to Every Track
With the legendary optical compressor as its muse, Behringer set an ambitious standard for its 2A leveling amplifier. Melding warm, musical sound and flexible, highly effective dynamics control, the 2A is eminently useful in all stages of the recording process, from tracking to mixing to mastering. At the heart of the 2A is a vintage-style optical attenuator based on the same electroluminescent technology employed in its 1960s predecessor. Moreover, premium tubes and high-quality Midas transformers infuse everything you run through this character-laden hardware with an exquisite, vintage-tinged warmth. You also get a Stereo Link for processing program material — a must-have for mastering. We’re huge devotees of this design here at Sweetwater — its tight bass, liquid midrange, and delicate, airy high end are guaranteed to add a pro-quality sheen to your tracks. Thanks to the Behringer 2A, infusing your studio with the hit sound of the last 60 years has never been easier.

Behringer: a brief history
Uli Behringer showed an interest in music technology design at a young age, building his own synthesizer by the time he was 16. In 1982, Uli began studying sound engineering and classical piano at the Robert Schumann conservatory in Düsseldorf, Germany. Uli’s defining moment came when he was repairing a signal processor made by a high-end manufacturer. Despite the processor’s expensive price tag, Uli realized that its internal components could be bought for a fraction of the cost. Being a strapped-for-cash student, Uli began building his own signal processors. Before he knew it, other students began requesting equipment from him. In 1989, after being bombarded with more orders than he could handle alone, Uli created Behringer, Inc.
