Long-lasting Tone!

Elixir's Nanoweb Bass Strings are the perfect string for anyone who likes the punch of an uncoated string but the feel and long life of a coated one. By using their amazingly effective yet micro-thin Nanoweb coating, Elixir designed a bass string that delivers both great feel and awesome sound. Sweetwater bassists have found Nanoweb Bass strings also retain their powerful edge for a lot longer than traditional bass strings. Think about it, if you don't have to buy strings as often, then tat means more money left over for other gear!

Elixir Nanoweb 4-String Long Scale Electric Bass Strings Features:

Reviews

Great feel, bright tone
Golden tone, even when worn in
Elixir Stainless steel 14677 bass strings
Outstanding! Having gone through many, many brands of strings through the years, I've used these exclusively for the last 17 years. Roundwound sound, very long lasting, and smooth to the touch. Nanoweb coating Rocks! Can't see bringing myself backwards in time to go back to "cheese grater" roundwounds, that go lifeless after several gigs. I highly recommend!
New strings
They sound great , very bright !!
three years and still going strong
I put a set of these on my four string space about three years ago. Have played finger style sometimes with a pick, some slapping, and they still sound pretty much the same as they did three years ago. Nothing comes close with retaining the tone of the strings.

The only slightest complaint I have is that I can still feel the coating on the strings, which is not a problem per se, just something that is always noticeable when I play that bass. It would be great if Elixir would use the Optiweb coating they use on their electric guitar strings which are near perfection. If they can make that happen I would use nothing but elixir strings on all of my guitars and basses.
Music background: semi-pro musician (mostly retired)
String-through-body bass? Avoid these. Look elsewhere for the "Extra Long" scale length.
I've got a 34" bass that's string-through. Nothing crazy. Read everywhere this would be fine, but the strings taper down before even getting to the nut.

Bummer, considering the price on these.
