Continuing to deliver studio tools with an eye toward the
budget minded musician and engineer, Samson rolled out
more goodies than you could shake a stick at this year. If you
remember last year’s NAMM report, they introduced the CO1,
a large condenser microphone that came in well under $100.
This year, Samson adds to it the CO2, CO3 and CO5. The
CO2 is a beautifully crafted pencil-style condenser for use with
acoustic instruments, cymbals, percussion, piano and in
overhead micing situations. The CO2 has a highly focused
cardioid condenser pickup pattern, gold-plated XLR connectors
and is sold as a stereo pair in a rugged carrying case.
Samson also included two shock mount mic clips for good
measure. The entire “CO” line will please any budget and the
CO2 is sure to find a home with studios everywhere.
