Vox Teardrop

This is the popular nickname for the electric guitar actually named the Vox Mark. Vox released three models: 6-string (Mark VI), 9-string (Mark IX) and 12-string (Mark XII). The 9-string had three wound strings and three pairs of unwound strings. Besides their iconic teardrop shape, these guitars were known for having three single-coil pickups, and Bigsby-style vibrato tailpiece, and a short scale length. Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, Tony Hicks of The Hollies, and Captain Sensible of The Damned famously used the Vox Teardrop.
