I Want My DVD… NOW!
If you just can’t bear to wait another minute for DVD duplication, Microboards has the machine for you: a new version of the 10-bay CopyWriter Tower. The CopyWriter Tower has been shipping for about a year with 8x DVD speed, but the new, improved version can do true 16x DVD duping. That means duping 10 complete DVDs in seven minutes – a speed other manufacturers have claimed, but have really never accomplished. A simple 2-button interface allows copying or advanced features such as track extraction, image archival, speed selection, and verification modes.
Time Is Running Out
Our limited time offer on Apogee Mini-MPs is running out – you have until 5/1/2005 to order two; when you do, you’ll receive a third Mini-MP ($995 value) and a Mini Rack Tray ($29.95 value) free of charge!
Space-saving CD Players
TASCAM announced two new compact CD players at the NAB show last week. The CD-01U (RCA unbalanced and S/PDIF optical outs) and the CD-01U Pro (XLR balanced and AES/EBU digital outs) each fit in a single rackspace. Both feature slot-loading, 20-second RAM shock buffers, +/-12.5% pitch control, and much more.
Level-headed
Universal Audio has expanded their very cool line of vintage re-issues with the LA-3A audio leveler. It doesn’t get simpler than this: two knobs (gain, peak reduction) and one VU meter. The new LA-3A is almost identical to the original. Three differences: XLR I/O, IEC power cable, and the commonly performed “LA-3A Gain Mod” is included as a switchable feature. The LA-3A is two rackspaces tall, but only 1/2-rack width. It ships with a rackmount adapter. A dual kit with two LA-3As and a rack adapter will also be available.
