Tascam’s US-224 Digital Audio Workstation Controller is a more compact and affordable version of their groundbreaking US-428. Like its bigger cousin, the US-224 is powered via USB connection to your computer, and lets you control any number of software faders with the unit’s four hardware faders, selectable in banks beneath the US-224’s jog wheel.
Mackie has announced Version 2.0 software with Windows 2000 and XP support for the Universal Audio Inc UAD-1 DSP card. Mackie also announced two new Powered Plug-ins for the UAD-1: the EX-1M, which is a monophonic version of the existing stereo EX-1 channel strip; and the DM-1L which provides stereo delay times up to 2400 milliseconds per channel, and expanded UAD Performance Meter functions. Version 2.0 and both new plug-ins are a free upgrade for existing UAD-1 users and are currently available for download at the Mackie or Universal Audio Websites.
