The primary hard drive in a computer, which contains the machine’s operating system and other the software. The system drive may be the computer’s only drive — in which case it also stores user data — or it may be used alongside one or more “data” drives, which, in the audio world, are used to store audio recordings, sample and loop libraries, and other user data.
