A successor to the SuperSpeed mode in USB 3.0, SuperSpeed+ was released in mid-2013 as part of the USB 3.1 spec. SuperSpeed+ provides transfer rates up to 1.25GB per second, which is twice as fast as USB 3.0. It is backward-compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0.
