Speaker Diaphragm

This is another term for the speaker cone. The cone of a speaker is commonly made from paper, though various models have featured cones constructed of composite or laminated materials (including glass fiber), plastic, aluminum, polypropelene, or other materials. The cone attaches to the driver’s voice coil, and moves when the voice coil responds to audio waveforms. The cone physically moves the air, creating sound waves. The stiffness and damping characteristics of the cone largely determine the accuracy of the sound waves that are produced by the driver.
