A wire or cable intended to carry speaker-level signals. Speaker cables are not shielded, as the signal is not amplified after it passes through the cable. Speaker cables tend to be quite heavy in order to minimize signal loss. Speaker cable diameter is indicated as a “gauge“; the smaller the gauge, the bigger the wire is.
