Also knows as “A-B Stereo” miking, this technique relies on two microphones being placed far enough apart so that the source sound waves reach each mic at a slightly different time, and the time difference creates a stereo effect. The mics are usually placed at a distance of 3 to 10 feet, which will create a time differential between the two microphones of around 1.5ms to 1.7ms.
