Soundette

This is a tapeless echo device that Fender released in 1967. It operated using a spinning magnetic drum and four fixed playback heads. A Duration control set the number of repeats while an Echo control set the wet/dry blend. Finally, a Volume control set the overall level of the effect. Three push buttons would activate three fixed delay times. For unexplained reasons (probably poor sales because the cost of the Soundette was steep), Fender discontinued production after 1968.
