Sizzle Cymbal

A cymbal featuring rivets that are loosely inserted into holes drilled in the cymbal near the rim. The rivets buzz and vibrate when the cymbal is struck, creating a wash of sustaining sound.

A second type of sizzle cymbals uses thin metal chains, which are draped over the cymbal and that vibrate when the cymbal is struck.

Sizzle cymbals are most commonly used as ride cymbals, less often for crash cymbals.
