Reverb Drip

“Reverb drip,” in surf music usually just called “drip,” refers to a specific, heavily reverberated reverb tail of a very short percussive note, usually palm-muted guitar. Due to the short note, the tail will repeat almost like a delay effect with the feedback turned up, but with a “splashier” sound than delay alone. Reverb drip is a staple in surf music and was often produced by using standalone Fender reverb tanks such as the 1963 Fender Tube Reverb.
