Radius (Fingerboard)

This is the curvature of the fingerboard across the neck from the
high E string to the low E string. Imagine if the neck were entirely
round, and you chopped off the part where the fingerboard sits. If
the imaginary neck were 12 inches around, you’d have a 12-inch
fingerboard radius. Likewise a 9-inch neck would have a
fingerboard radius of nine inches. As an example, a Fender Eric Clapton
Artist Series Strat has a fingerboard radius of 9.5 inches (or 241mm
in metric scale). A Stevie Ray Vaughan Strat has a 12-inch (or 305mm)
radius. Some manufacturers don’t specifically state the exact radius
of their fingerboards.
