Q: My Pro Tools system was working fine, but now when I try to load it, it freezes at a certain plug-in. How do I fix this?
A: All of your Pro Tools plug-ins live within a plug-in folder in your computer’s system. You can go into this folder and pull out the plug-in that is freezing and see if that solves the problem. If so, that plug-in has become corrupt for some reason. Reinstalling it will usually solve the problem.
If PT still freezes after removing that plug-in, it may be the plug-in that loads AFTER that one that is causing the lock. In either case, removing the plug-in that PT says it is loading during the freeze will give you the answer.
