Tonight Fender held a pre-NAMM show VIP Event, and Sweetwater’s Mitch Gallagher was on the scene with his trusty iPhone capturing some of the cool new guitars from Fender, Charvel, Jackson, EVH, Gretsch, and more!
Among the evenings highlights: guitarist extraordinaire Greg Koch jamming on a Gretsch while Fred Gretsch himself looked on, and acoustic wizard Doyle Dykes performing a solo fingerstyle version of “Freebird” on a Guild 12-string!
New guitars included the American Deluxe Strat Plus with a built-in Fishman wireless MIDI pickup, and the American Deluxe Strat Plus with interchangeable “personality” cards that give you three guitars in one! Fender also introduced their Passport Studio monitors, which were designed in association with Focal. But the big news at the show from Fender is the 60th Anniversary of the Stratocaster, which the company is celebrating with a number of special guitars.
