A system or component that allows a performer to create their own monitor mix. Typically, the performer is given a compact mixer onstage or in the studio that provides individual feeds of the other performers and tracks. The performer can then blend these sources to create the mix they desire to hear. Also known as “more me” system or mixer. Personal monitor mixers are more prevalent with in-ear monitor systems and studio headphone use, but may also be used with monitor wedges onstage.
