Patch Cable

A synonym for “patch cord.” A patch cable is a cable used to connect or “patch” the output from one device into the input of another. Literally, “patch cable” refers to the (usually) short cables that connect between various points on a patch bay, but in practice is used to describe almost any cable used to connect and route signals between pieces of gear.
