Q: I’m trying to do parallel compression on my drum track in Pro Tools, but the sound seems like it’s screwed up, almost like it is out of phase. Why is this happening?
A: It probably IS out of phase. The first thing to check is if Automatic Delay Compensation is on. Check under the Options menu; the bottom item is Automatic Delay Compensation. It should be checked. If it’s not, turn it on, which may take you to the setup screen where you can set the amount of delay compensation (long or short).
