Nocturne

A name given to a composition that is meant to suggest a romantic view of night time. The feeling evoked is usually described as slow and dreamy. The term may have evolved from either German or Italian, both of which have similar words. The most famous is probably Nocturnes which is an orchestral piece in three movements composed by Debussy between 1897 and 1899.
