Universal Audio has announced version UAD software version 8.4. The new version includes two major features: Unison technology for UAD Marshall amplifier plug-ins, and support for Apple Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
But that’s not all that’s in UAD v8.4! Four new plug-ins have been announced and free 14-day trials are included.
Eventide H910 Harmonizer Plug-in
The H910 ws an inconic mid-’70s processor, offering unique and previously unheard effects combining pitch shift, delay, harmonizing, and modulation. Heard everywhere from sci-fi sound tracks to albums by Bowie and AC/DC, the H910 was a revelation. Now, Eventide has developed the first and only end-to-end circuit emulation of the H910 for the UAD-2 and Apollo platform. Not only are the analog and digital circuits modeled, but also the custom-built A/D converter for totally authentic sounds. A keyboard and MIDI control are provided for setting pitch ratios, and pitch change up to two octaves is supported — including all the signature “glitching” effects from the original.
Marshall Bluesbreaker 1962 Plug-in
The 1966 album from John Mayall, Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton, was a landmark release that went on to influence countless guitarists. Clapton’s tone set a new standard for blues playing, and much of that tone was generated by his Marshall 1962 2×12 combo tube amplifier. Now you can capture that same tone right on your desktop with the Marshall Bluesbreaker 1962 plug-in. Utilizing Unison technology, three different microphone combinations, an onboard mixer, and more, Softube (expert developers of the emulation) have crafted a true tone machine. Fifty presets created by legendary AC/DC engineer, Tony Platt, are included.
Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 Plug-in
Well-known as the high-powered sonic weapon behind Slash, John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Alex Lifeson (Rush) among many others, the Silver Jubilee amp from Marshall is a legendary tonal wellspring. Now you can have that same amp on your sessions with the brand-new exacting emulation from Softube. Two microphone combinations, an onboard mixer, and 50 Tony Platt (AC/DC) presets are included.
Plus, UAD Software v8.4 also includes the Marshall Legends Bundle, featuring the Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959, the new Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555, and the new Marshall Bluesbreaker 1962. Each Marshall amplifier plug-in features Unison technology for Apollo audio interfaces; guitar players will experience the exact gain staging and impedance load as if they’re plugged into a vintage Marshall amp.
Oxide Tape Recorder Plug-in
There’s just something about analog tape — the way it hugs your audio. But in the digital age, finding, maintaining, and using a “real” tape machine is more than most of us want to deal with. That’s where the new Oxide Tape Recorder plug-in comes in. Oxide Tape Recorder provides the warmth, color, and punchy low end of a large-format analog tape machine, with musical saturation and circuit overdrive available for tonally shading your tracks to perfection. Choose 7.5 or 15 IPS tape speeds and two emphasis curves for even more authentic tape colorations.
