The latest addition to Samson’s killer new Airline series wireless units: the SWQSWX. This system, which is based on the ATW35x microphone, is specifically designed for wind instrument applications. As with other Airline models the entire wireless transmitter is contained in the same assembly as the microphone, which eliminates the irritating cable running from the mic to the transmitter pack.
Mac users will appreciate the clever and effective guitar tuner software by Happenstance Products. It is shareware ($5) and can be downloaded from their Web site.
Arboretum is shipping a free upgrade to its Ray Gun restoration software that makes it compatible with RTAS (Digi 001) systems. For those who aren’t familiar with it Ray gun is an exceptionally good noise removal plug-in that goes way beyond mere broadband noise reduction.
