- Gary Garritan has announced that the new Concert and Marching Band Library is now shipping. The pakage includes a complete collection of concert and marching band sampled instruments. It features a broad variety of cornets, trombones, trumpets, baritones, euphoniums, mellophones, sousaphones, saxes, tenor horns, clarinets, flutes, piccolo, tubas, marching percussion and more. It also includes drumline sounds from the renowned Virtual Drumline 2 by Tapspace. There are several hundred instruments arranged in sections as well as by solo instruments.
The Library is designed for easy playability and features standardized controls for dynamics and expression. An ensemble-building feature enables users to quickly create bands of varying sizes and configurations: marching bands, concert bands, British brass bands, modern drum and bugle corps, wind orchestras, symphonic bands, or wind ensembles.
Powered by the Native Instruments Kontakt 2 Player, the library runs on a single desktop or laptop Mac or PC. A standalone player is included, as well as plug-ins for all major sequencers (VST, DX, AU, RTAS). The library is also optimized for use in Sibelius 5 and Finale 2008.
- SONiVOX has announced the release of their highly anticipated Sonic Implants Symphonic Harp sample library for the Kontakt platform. Recorded in the same space as the company’s Symphonic Collection, this collection of sampled harp tones and glissandi aims to capture this instrument’s unique nuance, finesse, and lyrical expressiveness, while providing serious performance flexibility and control. With gigabytes of sample data and a variety of programming features, Symphonic Harp affords users an expansive palette of color and texture while Kontakt 2 scripting features make glissandi creation as simple as selecting a scale type and loading it for fast, easy, and effective sequencing.
