Sometimes abbreviated MMC, Multimedia Cards are small, flash-based memory cards similar in function to Compact Flash and Smart Media cards, only MMC’s are typically quite a bit smaller. MMC’s also feature encryption capabilities for protected content, to ensure secure distribution of copyrighted material, such as digital music, video, and eBooks.
