Also called the “Synchro-sonic” or “Space Control” guitar bridge by Gretsch, the Melita allowed each guitar string to deliver near-perfect intonation by adjusting small string rests, thus allowing each string to be fine-tuned, both at the octave and exact intervals in all positions. This was better than the simple Rocking Bar bridge, but Gretsch still wisely put the Melita out to pasture once the Adjusto-matic bridge made its debut.
