Measured Speaker Impedance?

Q: I measured my 4×12 cabinet’s impedance with a multimeter, and it is showing up slightly under 14 ohms, instead of 16 ohms, which is what it is rated as. Is this okay for my amp, which is set up for 16-ohm output?

A: What you measured was the cabinet’s resistance, not impedance. Typically resistance will read a bit lower than what the impedance would be. Assuming the cabinet is wired properly, with the correct speakers, it should be fine with your amp.
