This is the nickname for the entire class of low-wattage (generally under 25 watts) tube amp heads in mini-head boxes. The first mainstream lunchbox amp, the Orange Amplification Tiny Terror, debuted in the 2008 NAMM show and since then nearly every major manufacturer of tube amps has some lunchbox amps in their lineup.
